摘要： 世界文化悠久绵远，顺着人类文明发展的脚步寻觅，不难发现人类的创造性活动尤以人类感官视觉的艺术创作最为突出，缤纷多彩，形态各异。随着社会不断进步，人类思想的转变，艺术家们对艺术的不断追求以及大众对艺术作品的鉴赏能力不断提高，故水彩艺术家们在创作的过程中不断创新，将装饰性元素融入绘画作品之中。

一、引言
人类艺术创作缤纷多彩，假设以绘画艺术的样式分类，就其功能和风格而言，大概有一类可以以“装饰”二字冠之，及装饰绘画。在传统观念下，装饰艺术通常被称之为“次艺术”或是“小艺术”。其实，现实中也不存在纯粹的“艺术”，所谓的“艺术”自它产生之日起，就与宗教、美、道德及实用相关，毫无目的性的艺术是不存在的。
文章进一步通过构图、色彩、造型和肌理这几个方面来表述装饰性元素在当代水彩画中的体现，追随着当代水彩画的多元和创新意识去思考装饰性元素在绘画中的意义，从而表现水彩装饰性存在必要性。
二、装饰性的概念论述
（一）装饰性的含义
