在每个人的眼球视网膜上通常都具有有对全色域（白、黑、红、绿、黄、青）的接受细胞，它们与人对色彩的感受相关。一种颜色或相近的颜色看多了容易使人产生对它的厌倦，而颜色过于丰富则容易使人产生审美疲劳，因此在办公空间设计中，我们需要的是既不单调，也不过分斑斓的色彩。对而运用色彩情感、冷暖对比和各种配色手法，有计划、有目的地将办公空间色彩环境寓意展现给使用者，并让使用者接受色彩所传达的信息、营造出宜人的色彩环境便成为了设计中重要的一环。
