20 世纪中后期发展起来的后现代文化基本上是一种视觉文化，图像已经成为我们日常生活中最主要的存在事实。哲学中曾有“语言学的转向”, 紧随着又有了“图像的转向”，那么对于汉画像的图形转向，现代设计人又做出了哪些“新动作”呢？人们不自觉地依从于我们这个时代的偏见和风尚 , 对汉画像石蕴含的内在精神及其当代意义视而不见，很多设计都止步于还原。我们的设计态度该怎样：是还原？是颠覆？还是兼容并蓄、有机生成？答案是肯定的。
对于传统的关注，由来已久，迫于时间的关系，此次研究仅以汉画像石中的“马”为研创点，进行与现代图形设计的比较分析，进而指导创意的生成。
 一、“汉画像石”中“马”元素特征的解析
