摘要英语词汇是英语语言系统的一个层次,历来为国内外学者对语言研究一个重要领域,也是英语教学的一个基本方面。词缀作为英语词汇中一种极为重要的构词派生法,在英语的整个历史发展中起着积极的作用,不仅扩充了英语的词汇,也极大丰富了语言的表现力。本文旨在结合认知语言学中的原型范畴化理论,通过百度搜索、《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》、《构词法》等语料库搜索出表示英语主、客体性后缀的相关词汇,对其进行对比研究,并加以分类,同时也运用四种翻译方法将该类词汇加以翻译,以帮助英语学习者更深入地了解词缀构词的基本特征及其中文释义,并扩充词汇量。28930

Title  The Research and Corresponding Translation on English Suffixes of Subjectivity&Objectivity                                            
Abstract
As one level of English language system, English vocabulary has been an important part in linguistic study for a long time at home and abroad. Affixation is one vital method in word formation and plays a positive role in the history of language development. It not only extends English vocabulary,but also enriches its expressive force. This thesis intends to combine the prototype categorization theory in cognitive linguistics to find out relative derivatives, which have suffixes in terms of subjectivity and objectivity through Baidu search, Oxford Advanced Learner’s English—Chinese Dictionary(2004), Word Formation. And then, adopting contrastive analysis to category these two kinds of suffixes, and translating them into corresponding Chinese by means of different methods of translation. The purpose is to help English learners to understand the fundamental features of English word formation deeply and extend their vocabulary.

1. Introduction
1.1 Research Background
As we all know, in the field of lexicology, word is the backbone, as lexicologist McCarthy (1990:23) once pointed out, in learning a second language, grammar and the pronunciation are two crucial aspects, but if someone just know these two parts well and ignore words’ accumulation of this language, then he(she) wouldn’t grasp this language successfully, further more, significant communication would not take place in these second-language learners. Besides, in other aspects of language studies, vocabulary, involved in listening, speaking, reading and writing, also plays an important role.
So in recent decades, not only linguists,but also scholars at home and abroad have paid more attention to the study of vocabulary,which is the most fundamental one of a language. What’s more, one language consists of three elements, including speech sounds, grammar, vocabulary, and vocabulary is the most essential element. A language tends to have a great deal of vocabulary, which varies actively with the rapid development of society and science, technology. And English vocabulary’ feature lies in its complicative ingredients. English belongs to the German Branch and is the component of Indo—European Languages. But with many centuries passed from generation to generation and contacts with other languages, English has changed a lot and its vocabulary is very rich, and now it has become the first language in the UK, America, Australia, New Zealand and so on, besides, it is an international language, so it is very important for us to learn English well, especially its words, which occupy influential position in the field of English learning. It has been long proposed that overall language proficiency consists of more than grammatical competence, and vocabulary knowledge is an indispensable part of language prodiciency(Wu Yi 2007).
