The local snacks comprise indispensable parts of Chinese diet and life. Every area has their own snacks, which are so-called specialties, possessing a long history. They use the local materials. As a result, they can reflect authentically the local materials and social life. So, a good translation plays a significant role in cultural transmission for our local snacks.
2)The current situation of the dissertation
Nowadays, there is still little English name of our local snacks, which is more than a simple linguistic sign for we Chinese. Instead, it should consist of affluent information of Chinese traditional cultural. In our daily life when communicating with foreigners, some kinds of cultural transmission is being forgot or even neglected because of the lack of the construction of English written language, which impedes the cultural transmission of Chinese local snacks. In order to better develop it, to make it enter to the international market, to let it understood by the world, they need accurate English translations.
4)总结
Considering of the current situation of the English translations of Chinese local snacks, the relevant departments should use a combination of the media to disseminate the accurate name in order to propagandize our local cultural, so it is necessary to adapt the right translation strategies.
2.研究思路、研究方法以及手段
1) 基本思路
First, introduce briefly Chinese diet and life, and then make a list of the local snacks, next show the importance of cultural transmission and English translation, finally, highlight some translation strategies to make the Chinese cultural understood better.
The main structure:
Part 1: introduction of Chinese diet and life.
Part 2: introduction of the culture behind the diet and the specialty.
Part 3: introduction of the translation strategies and the cultural transmission.
Part 4: conclusion.
2)research methods
    I will mainly use the Internet and library to search and get more authoritative information. And I should communicate with my tutor and learn from them.
