This paper is made up of five parts including the introduction (part one) and the conclusion (part five). Part two focuses on the term “Black Consciousness”. Part three is the introduction of the author Toni Morrison and the novel “Song of Solomon”. Part four is to elaborate the Black Consciousness in Song of Solomon in detail, which is displayed in three sections. Section one is “The Accept of the Black Identity”; section two is “The Pride of the Black Cultural Heritage”; section three is “The Last Song of Racial Freedom”.
 2. Brief Survey of the Term¬¬¬¬¬—Black Consciousness
After we learn the American history, we know that every people come to the United States and hope for finding riches, adventure and a new life. Among those, the Black is unwilling to be brought here and forced to make a living as a slaves on the new continent.
The moving of African slaves to other countries began as early as the fifteenth century and the first slaves were brought to the state of Virginia in 1619. Over so many years, tens of thousands of black slaves are imported in America. The aim of this was to make more money for the owner and the slaves of Africa are lower.
Up to now, we have paid more attention on the Black rights, so the American black is the racial group with largest population and strongest political consciousness.
