Abstract Dialogue is one of the important ingredients of a novel, and can propel the development of the plot, describe the objective environment and build personal characteristics. Some dialogues can even reflect the main ideas of the writer indirectly. So, the translation of dialogues plays a crucial role in directing the translation of the whole novel.

This thesis is going to choose Wang Keyi’s and Sun Zhili’s translated versions of Pride and Prejudice to compare their dialogue translation manners. The two versions enjoy great time span, resulting in giant difference in translation strategies and styles, but both of them are favored by the public. Guided by different purposes of translation and influenced by different historical and cultural backgrounds, the two versions adopt different translation methods and specific target words, on which this thesis will conduct comparisons. Through writing this thesis, the author tries to analyze that dialogue translation in the two selected Chinese versions of Pride and Prejudice are different from each other in translation strategies and methods under the theory of three rules of Skopos Theory. It turns out that Wang Keyi follows the translation strategy of domestication and the translation methods of conversion, amplification and free translation, while Sun Zhili prefers the translation strategy of foreignization to domestication and mainly adopts the literal translation method.37840

摘 要小说的重要组成部分之一就是小说对话，能推动情节发展，描绘客观环境并塑造人物性格。有些对话甚至能间接体现作者的思想。因此，小说对话的翻译对于整本小说的翻译的走向起到关键作用。
本研究拟分别选取王科一和孙致礼两位译者的《傲慢与偏见》的中译本，在目的论的指导下，对两译本中人物对话的汉译进行对比分析。这两个译本在翻译时间上相隔多年，在翻译策略和翻译风格上也有很大差异，但两者均广受读者喜爱。由于不同翻译目的指导和不同时代文化背景的影响，两个译本在对话的汉译方面采用了不同的翻译方法，在具体词汇的选用方面也有所不同。本研究将对这些不同进行比较，并从目的论的三个原则理论角度出发论证所选的两个汉译本在对话翻译翻译策略和翻译方法方面存在差异的主要原因。王科一采用的是归化翻译策略和转译、增译与意译等翻译方法；孙致礼主要采用异化翻译策略与直译翻译方法。造成这些差异的主要原因是两位译者所生活的时代不同，两者在人生观和价值观方面存在差异，因此其译文也打上了时代的烙印。
